John W. Wright, age 98, oldest man in Montgomery county, died suddenly at his home near Alamo Wednesday evening. Mr. Wright who failed to return home for supper after cutting posts on his farm, was found dead in a field about 200 yards from the house. Coroner A. L. Loop after examining the body said Mr. Wright had suffered a heart attack. The deceased was born Aug. 5, 1836, near Alamo and had spent his entire life in Ripley township. He was the son of Ery and Sarah McGathey Wright. Mr. Wright was first married to Margaret Weir who passed away many years ago. His second wife was to Mary Keller, who died in 1919. Those surviving are one son, Ery, of near Alamo; two daughters, Harriet E. Wright, at home, and Mrs. Rosella Swisher, 111 west Market street, two step-daughters, Mrs. Ansley Healey of Alamo, and Mrs. Clara C. Matthews of Alamo, eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the Shuler & Grenard undertaking parlors in Waynetown and funeral services will be held at the home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. J. C. Overman of the Waynetown Baptist church will officiate and burial will be made at Stonebraker cemetery near Alamo.
